The Register only records transfers between UN Member States. States may use different systems for collecting their data on transfers, and there is no single definition of a transfer. The map should not be construed as an expression of an opinion on the part of the Secretariat of the United Nations concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area, or of its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of frontiers or boundaries.
